About Community Coaching

Community Coaching has been made available to support Main Street residents over 3 sessions since Summer 2020. In this latest session, we will continue to provide a level of support to Main Street residents while opening up the experience to non-residents as well.

Session Dates: September 26, 2021 to December 12, 2021 (No meeting or midweek check-in the week of November 28)
Sunday Cohort Meetings: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Main Street
Community Coaching Fee: $330

Objectives

Individuals participating in Community Coaching should experience the following:

  • A sense of calm as we close the previous week and reset for the week ahead
  • A sense of community, comradery and connection to Main Street, staff and other residents/members
  • An understanding of how to solve problems, what to do in specific scenarios/situations (i.e. apartment issues, medical issues, interpersonal issues)

Overview

Individuals participating in Community Coaching this Fall will meet with their coaches and cohort on Sunday evenings and have an option for a mid-week 1:1 check-in. In addition to these in-person meetings, Community Coaches will communicate weekly with check-in and reminder emails.

Sunday Cohort Meetings will occur from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in Poppy Boy’s Kitchen. They will include a look back at the past week and review of the individual’s week ahead. Participants can except the following from Sunday Cohort Meetings:

  • Encouraging participation in Main Street and/or community events; assistance with event registration
  • Considering other community social/learning opportunities

Midweek Check-Ins are optional and must be scheduled before leaving the Sunday Cohort Meeting. They will be in a communal space (i.e. Main Street Mailroom or Soulfull Café) and not in an individual’s apartment. Participants can except the following from Midweek Check-Ins:

  • Modify/adjust any plans they have for the rest of the week
  • Address an individual’s relevant concerns
