
Summer 2026 Internships for College Students

Intern Job Responsibilities:
- Understand the overall concept of Main Street, including the vision, mission, brand, programming, membership model, community and other aspects of service
- Support, develop and facilitate inclusive programs
- Provide tours to prospective Main Street members
- Support front desk operations when needed
- Deliver a final presentation regarding knowledge, skills and experiences gained from being a part of an inclusive community
- Learn and become proficient on internal software systems such as NeonCRM and Microsoft Office

Interns must also have a laptop available for use.
Important Dates and Schedule Information
Summer 2026 interns must be available for the following dates and deadlines:
- Sunday, March 1 – Application deadline
- March / April – Interviews and final decisions
- Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 27 – Orientation
- Saturday, June 6 – Participate in Main Street’s Neighborhood Health and Safety Day
- Friday, August 7 – Last day celebration
Interns must commit to 15-20 hours each week in-person at Main Street in Rockville. This is not a remote position.
Schedules are flexible, but will consistently include Friday evening programs ending at 7:30 pm.
Compensation
Upon successful completion of the summer program, interns will receive a $1200 stipend. During their internship, interns also receive a free membership to Main Street, which includes use of the fitness center and access to social, educational, cultural and wellness programs. Interns interested in part-time work after the summer receive a higher rate of pay than those without the internship experience.
