Our Programming Philosophy
We all seek a place to belong – a community offering friendship, purpose and hope. Main Street was created to address the void in opportunities for adults with disabilities and their peers to come together in a supportive, accepting environment. We offer opportunities for inclusive community engagement, empowering people of all abilities to lead to happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.
The ground floor of the Main Street building has a 10,000-square-foot community center that includes a fitness center, teaching kitchen, multimedia room and a classroom. Together with professional partners, Main Street offers a robust calendar of programs, events and community engagement opportunities. Most programs are available to members only, however some events are open to the public.
Main Street welcomes everyone to join as members of its community center. Through the membership program, Main Street expands its community of belonging well beyond the residents of the Main Street apartment building.
