Come to the National Portrait Gallery on March 9th with Main Street Staff Abby and Cindy to see all the beautiful portraits the Gallery has to offer, from America’s Presidents to the new Star Power Exhibit: Photographs from Hollywood’s Golden Age!

Make sure to wear your Main Street gear we will gather in the lobby for a group photo after our visit!

Do I need to get ticket(s)? 

  • The National Portrait Gallery is Free! You do not need to purchase any tickets.  
  • You may want to bring extra spending money in case you want to purchase something from the Museum Gift Shop or stop before or after at the Museum’s Courtyard Cafe.  

What happens if I sign up but can’t go? 

  • Please be sure to email Abby and Cindy as they will be on the lookout for all attendees prior 

What if I have a support person? 

  • If you would like to bring a friend/family member/support person, they do not have to pay for the Main Street Event as a non-member. 

How do I get to the National Portrait Gallery? Are we going together? 

  • Each person is responsible for their own transportation to and from the National Portrait Gallery in Downtown DC.  
  • You are encouraged to make plans with others, but Main Street is not coordinating any transportation.

How do I get there from Main Street on the Metro? 

  • Members are encouraged to make plans in advance with other members who are taking the metro from Main Street: 
  • Start at 50 Monroe Pl, Rockville MD 20850  
  • Walk to Rockville Metro Station (0.2 miles) 
  • Board the Metro Red Line Train Towards Glenmont 
  • Ride 14 Stops and Exit Metro at Gallery Place Chinatown  
  • Start on Seventh St NW  
  • The destination is on your left  
  • Arrive at 8th and G Streets NW, Washington DC 20001 US
