Rachel Joy Perlman

Rachel Joy Perlman is a contemporary abstract mixed media artist whose work is grounded in love, transformation, and human connection. She creates large scale, immersive paintings that unfold through an intuitive process.

Working with acrylic, ink, charcoal, spray paint, oil sticks, and plaster, Perlman builds layered surfaces that are continuously reworked, sanded, and transformed. Her butterfly series reflects the essence of metamorphosis, where forms emerge and dissolve within richly textured layers, embodying both vulnerability and growth.

Guided by the belief that every day offers the chance to begin again, her work holds a sense of hope and quiet strength. Each piece carries a history of change, revealing that even in the most imperfect and uncertain moments, something meaningful and beautiful is always unfolding.

Rachel works out of her home studio in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and her greatest joy, beyond her art, is her family.
