Artist Edward Ugo

Edward Ugo is a contemporary artist specializing in Geometric Abstraction and Hard-edge painting. His work is created by the manipulation of geometric forms and abrupt transitions of color area. Edward’s true passion for color drives the narrative of his work.

Edward studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and began his career in interior design. He is an artist by nature and until recently was focused on drawing. It was in retirement that he discovered his love for painting. Edward spends his days creating vibrant paintings and mixed media art in his studio. In the spirit of recycling, he uses leftover work materials to create animal sculptures.

Edward was awarded a solo show at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia, and works on commissions for clients. He is passionate about supporting his community and has donated countless works to nonprofit organizations including Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) and Art Connection in the Capital Region (ACCR). Edward’s works have also been featured in “House Hunters” on HGTV. Edward lives in Washington, DC with his wife, Molly. He enjoys spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and family when he is not painting.
