Event Details

We are so grateful for your participation in Neighborhood Health and Safety Day hosted by Main Street and the City of Rockville Police! Here is some important info to help you enjoy the day.

Arrival, Check-In, and Setup

When you arrive, please check in at the front desk inside the Main Street building at 50 Monroe Place. The Main Street entrance is behind The Bean Bag Deli. We will show you where to setup and help if you need it. Please note:

  • Monroe Place will be shut down to traffic at 8:30 am.
    • Please allow time and bring a bag or cart for transporting your items from a parking garage (see options below) to Monroe Place.
    • If necessary, there are drop off points for people and supplies (see details below). Volunteers will be available at these points to help carry supplies.
  • First responders arriving after 8:30 am with vehicles to display should come to the northbound right turn lane on Monroe Street. A volunteer will be there to help you access Monroe Place.
  • Setup will go from 8:45 am – 10:00 am. Please plan to arrive no later than 9:15 am and to be fully set up between 9:45 am and 10:00 am. If your setup will take some time, please plan to arrive early.
  • The event will go from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm.

Weather

This event is rain or shine but we have a good rain plan in place. If the weather is good, some tables will be inside the Main Street building, some under Main Street’s covered driveway, and some on the street. If heavy rain is expected, we will adjust our setup plan so that all tables are either under the covered driveway or inside the Main Street building.

Tables, Chairs, and Tablecloths

If you need Main Street to provide a table and chairs and/or tablecloth and you did not indicate this when you registered as an exhibitor, please reach out to Julie through our contact form.

Canopies

First responders will be set up on the street and are encouraged to bring a canopy and weights if you have them.

Getting There and Parking

  • Metered street parking is available on surrounding streets and will be free during the event!
  • Public parking garages are located at:
    • Montgomery County Council Office Building Garage – Enter from the corner of E. Jefferson Street (Rt. 28) and Monroe Street. Free to park on weekends.
    • Ansel ParkX at 33 Monroe Street – Pay to park. Open 24/7.
    • Please note:
      • The parking garage at 51 Monroe Place will not be accessible during this event.
      • Parking is not allowed at 90 Monroe Street (the building next to Main Street at the corner of Monroe Place and Monroe Street).
  • Public transportation: Main Street is 500 feet from the Rockville Metro and bus station and there is a pedestrian overpass over Rockville Pike.

Drop-Off Points

There are two options for dropping off people or supplies:

  • On northbound Monroe Street, use the right turn lane at the intersection with Monroe Place. (Monroe Place will be closed at 8:30 am so the right turn lane will not be in use for through traffic.)
  • The circle in front of the Montgomery County Circuit Court at the intersection of Monroe Street and Monroe Place.

Volunteers will be available to help carry supplies from these drop-off points.

Event “Passport”

  • Event participants will receive an “event passport” when they check in. If they visit a certain number of exhibitors, they will get a prize from the Main Street table, and can enter a raffle for a larger prize.
  • When you check in at Main Street’s front desk, we will provide a stamp for you to use to mark the participants’ passports.

Food and Drink

Food will be available for purchase from the The Bean Bag Deli at the front of the Main Street building.

Water

We encourage everyone to bring a refillable water bottle to reduce waste. There are drinking fountains and a place to refill water bottles inside the Main Street building near the restrooms.

Restrooms

  • A single bathroom is available in The Bean Bag Deli.
  • Bathrooms with multiple stalls are available in the Main Street building.

Staff and Volunteers

Main Street staff will be wearing orange t-shirts and volunteers will have orange hats. Let us know how we can help!
