We are thrilled to have Sabria Still among our new residents at Main Street! Sabria currently works for Montgomery County Councilman-At-Large, Will Jawando, as his scheduler. Here’s a peek into who this young woman is, what her goals are and what Main Street means to her.

Sabria was born at Shady Grove Hospital and raised here in Rockville. She has two younger step brothers. Sabria has taken classes at both Montgomery and Prince George’s Community Colleges. While taking classes, she has explored a few majors only to realize that they were not what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Her goal now is to earn a Human Resource Management certificate and apply her customer service skills to a new industry. Her long-term plan is to get a PhD in Industrial/Organizational and Child Psychology!

Sabria loves many things – learning about and taking care of her natural hair, taking photos of the sun and nature landscapes and nurturing her houseplants. Both travel and spending quality time with loved ones are very important to her. She enjoys reading, learning and doing genealogical research. Sabria loves riding in fast cars! While on a sabbatical in Denver, Sabria was exposed to two organizations that she hopes to bring to the DMV: PCs for People and The Action Center.

Sabria learned about Main Street through her job. She was living in Prince George’s County and excited for her new Montgomery County job, but the commute left little room for rest. She decided to apply to live at Main Street in the hope that she would be able enjoy the excitement of her work for the county and also find more balance in her life. Main Street gives her the opportunity to learn from a population that she has had little knowledge of or exposure to. It is an inclusive community that she had no idea she could be a part of! Sabria has enrolled as a member of Main Street Connect and looks forward to participating in mindfulness classes and cooking classes. She hopes to be able to learn chess with the chess club and would love to be able to attend a future entrepreneur series!
